Help Create Healthy Mealtimes for Young Children

At St George's Nursery, we believe good food plays an important part in every child's day. We're looking for a friendly and organised Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the children in our care.

Hours & Pay

Part-Time - 25 hours per week
£12.95 per hour

About the Role

You'll be responsible for preparing meals and snacks that are nutritious, varied, and suitable for the needs of young children. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and organisation are maintained.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals each day.

• Follow dietary requirements, allergies, and individual food plans.

• Monitor food supplies and report stock requirements.

• Complete kitchen records, temperature checks, and food safety documentation.

• Support the planning of varied and balanced menus.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.

• Ensure food is prepared and stored in line with health and hygiene regulations.

What You'll Need

• Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 or above).

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, education, healthcare, or similar environment.

• Understanding of food allergens and safe food handling practices.

• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

• A positive approach to providing healthy meals for children.
